Development Screenings
There are approximately 2,000 days between birth and the first day of kindergarten. Identifying developmental delays or opportunities to improve on a child’s social and emotional development is crucial during these early years of life. Read more

In-Home Parenting
The Parent Connection offers this program for parents and families who may not be as comfortable attending parenting classes in a larger group setting. Read more

Parent Connection Advisory Council/Prevent Child Abuse Iowa (PCAI)
The Prevent Child Abuse Council was formed to serve children and families in Hamilton, Humboldt, and Wright Counties. The Council oversees and supports child abuse prevention efforts in this area – primarily the Parent Connection programs and services. Read more

Parenting Classes

  • Nurturing Parenting Class
    The Nurturing Parenting ® program is an evidenced based curriculum that focuses on developing skills to increase empathy, ensure a proper understanding of child development, examine beliefs regarding disciplining and identify more effective forms of guiding behavior. Read more
  • Positive Solutions for Families
    The Positive Solutions for Families workshops are part of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework that is used in area childcare settings, preschools and schools. Read more
