McKinley Bailey - Director

McKinley Bailey is the Executive Director of Building Families.  With 10 years of leadership and management experience in both the public and private sector this US Army Veteran and former state legislator brings a wealth of  experience to the Building Families Team. McKinley earned a Bachelors Degree in International Studies from the University of Iowa and a Masters in Business Administration from the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica.  McKinley is a father of two young children with a passion for bringing private sector efficiencies to public sector endeavors.

Tiffany Larson - Community Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (CAPP) Coordinator

tiffanyTiffany Larson has served as the Community Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (CAPP) Coordinator for the Bee Inspired CAPP Program through Building Families since 2008. She received her B.S. in Child, Adult, and Family Services from Iowa State University in 2005. She has had experience working in the human services field providing individual and group skill building and case management for male juveniles while working at Rabiner Treatment Center, and was involved in shadowing in-home counselors while interning with the Youth and Family Center. Her current position allows her to work with existing programs, community and faith organizations, parents, school districts, businesses, and youth aged 13-18 in Hamilton, Humboldt, and Wright Counties. She has been active in providing a variety of age-appropriate, medically accurate, evidence-based comprehensive services and supports to help reduce the rates of adolescent pregnancy, STDs, or additional pregnancies to teen parents.

Angela Wesselink - Parent Coordinator

Angela WesselinkAngela Wesselink is the Parent Coordinator for the Building Families Program in Hamilton, Humboldt and Wright Counties.   She serves families by providing group and in-home based parent education, service coordination and referral, preschool parent nights, and also facilitates a support group for parents who have children with a disability/Autism.  Angela previously worked as a Case Manager for Wright County Community Services/County Social Services.  During that time she worked with individuals on the Intellectual Disability Waiver and Brain Injury as well as individuals with mental illness; prior to that she was employed by Southfield Wellness Community as a Department Head/Social Worker.  Angela works with families each week to strengthen their parenting skills and help create their parenting techniques to provide limits and positive discipline while building their child’s self-esteem.  She also works to assist each parent in obtaining the support, resources and community support they need for their parenting journey.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Business Administration from Drury University in Springfield, MO in 2000.  She is married and has 3 sons.
