The Nurturing Parenting ® program is an evidenced based curriculum that focuses on developing skills to increase empathy, ensure a proper understanding of child development, examine beliefs regarding disciplining and identify more effective forms of guiding behavior.
The curriculum is divided up into four different categories:
- Getting to Know You - Parents spend time building rapport and support within the group.
- Communication - Parents learn the various ways in which communication occurs and how to begin to communicate in a more nurturing manner.
- Structure - Parents explore ways in which stress management can be dealt with and how to adjust to new routines.
- Having Fun - Parents identify things that can be done as a family to encourage connectedness.
